Six innovative entrepreneurial projects from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering were awarded during the 2023 edition of Switch2Product<\/b>, the Innovation Challenge organized by the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with PoliHub - Innovation Park & Startup Accelerator<\/b>, and Deloitte<\/b> to support innovative solutions, new technologies and business ideas proposed by students, doctoral students, researchers, faculty and alumni of the university.<\/p>

In the Health & Med Tech<\/b> category, Avertis, INSIGHT and SegMentor were the ones to be selected.<\/p>

Using an artificial intelligence-based solution, Avertis<\/b> increases mammography screening accuracy, reduces delays and improves patient care. Intelligent triage prioritizes exams, while a user-friendly interface makes it accessible to all types of users. The project, developed during the NECSTCamp experience, was proposed by Valentina Lidoni<\/b>, MSc student in Biomedical Engineering; Pablo Giaccaglia<\/b>, MSc student in Computer Engineering; Eleonora D'Arnese<\/b>, researcher at NECSTLab; Leonardo Breda<\/b>, MSc student in Mathematical Engineering; and Prof. Marco Santambrogio<\/b> from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering.<\/p>

INSIGHT<\/b> is an intelligent sensorized endoscope that exploits the potential of artificial intelligence to detect lesions, perform virtual biopsies, and three-dimensional reconstructions: a small revolution in the field of endoscopy! The project, developed at NEARLab, was proposed by Chiara Lena<\/b> and Luca Carlini<\/b>, Ph.D. students in Bioengineering, Davide Milesi<\/b>, a MSc student in Biomedical Engineering, and Prof. Elena De Momi<\/b> from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, in collaboration with alumnus Alessandro Casella<\/b> (Google), and Marco Spadaccini<\/b> and Cesare Hassan<\/b> (Humanitas Research Hospital).<\/p>

SegMentor<\/b> is an artificial intelligence-based image segmentation prototype that, through deep learning models and generative applications, can evolve into a diagnostic tool capable of incorporating disease staging and clinical-like explainability. The project was proposed by Prof. Pietro Cerveri<\/b> of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Matteo Rossi<\/b>, a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, and Luca Marsilio<\/b>, a doctoral student in Bioengineering.<\/p>

In the Industries Transformation<\/b> category, Neuromorphic Machines, MONIMEDS and YAOSC were selected.<\/p>

The idea behind Neuronova<\/b> is that 'traditional' computers are unfit for today's challenges due to their high energy consumption, significant costs, and a heavily cloud-based infrastructure. The solution? Building new brain-inspired computers but different from classical software neural networks because they will be based solely on a hardware-level revolution that aims to bring artificial intelligence to the edge. The project was proposed by Alessandro Milozzi<\/b>, a student in the Ph.D. program in Information Technology.<\/p>

MONIMEDS<\/b> is an innovative market surveillance support system that integrates heterogeneous regulatory data on a global level, giving practitioners a broad monitoring perspective to effectively predict medical device failures. Through interactive dashboards, it enables informed decision-making to improve patient safety. The project was proposed by Prof. Enrico Caiani<\/b> from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Antonella Lombardi<\/b>, MSc student in Biomedical Engineering, Yijun Ren<\/b> and Riccardo Gibello<\/b>, Ph.D. students in Data Analytics and Decision Science.<\/p>

YAOSC<\/b> transforms SME productivity and autonomy with an easy-to-use, plug-and-play artificial intelligence-based application for codeless robot programming that is integrated into most robotic ecosystems. The project, developed at the MeRLIn lab, was proposed by Niccol\u00f2 Lucci<\/b>, Ph.D. student in Information Technology, and Prof. Andrea Zanchettin<\/b> from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering.<\/p>

The selected projects received funding that will be allocated to prototyping and technological development activities and will participate in an entrepreneurial and technological acceleration program under the supervision of PoliHub.<\/p>
